What is a CruiseTour anyway?

In the past few years, cruising has really gained in popularity. The major cruise lines have gone all out to add the newest and best amenities possible to the ships. We are seeing things like Go Cart Tracks, Roller Coasters, Laser Tag, and Specialty Restaurants, just to name a few. Along with the popularity of Cruising, we are also seeing more CruiseTours.

So what is a CruiseTour, you are asking. A great example is in Alaska. Most Alaskan Cruises will stay in the Inside Passage. You can visit such exciting ports like Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway and Glacier Bay National Park. These are normally 7 day cruises that start/end in Seattle, Vancouver or Whittier, AK. A CruiseTour will add more days to your trip and take into the Interior of Alaska to see such sights as Mount McKinley and Denali National Park.

Most of the Alaskan CruiseTours will take you by RailRoad and Motorcoach to the different Interior Destinations. There are beautiful Lodges that are located close to the parks what are beautiful destinations in themselves.

With many locations, the places you want to visit are not close to the ports that the cruise ship will visit. By doing the CruiseTour, you can get the best of both worlds. You can enjoy a cruise with all of it's great amenities. Plus you get the added experience of the land vacation.

The major cruise lines are expanding where they are offering CruiseTours. You can now enjoy CruiseTours to such locations as Asia, US & Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Japan and South America & Antarctica. The normal Land Tour portion of the CruiseTour will last 4 to 10 days. It is a great way to add value to your trip by extending your cruise and not paying additional airfare to visit more locations.
